Events: Invitationals
Each year some OJGT invitational events are held. In a standard tour schedule there are usually three as listed below:
OKLAHOMA HIGH SCHOOL ALL STAR CLASSIC: This event is generally held over the Memorial Day weekend. It is the only OJGT event that is both; open to non- OJGT members, and is entered offline using checks. To qualify for this event players must have finished in the top 15 in their respective gender and class divisions in OSSAA high school golf championships. Invitation letters and entry blanks are handed out by host schools after the completion of the OSSAA high school championships. The event is 36 holes of stroke play, and is ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard. The winners of the boys and girls divisions for "The Classic" are afforded exemptions on the OJGT Red River team in October.
OJGT TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP: This special event is held the week after the final regular season OJGT tournament. Invitation is extended to the top 40 point producers in each division and/or those players who have entered at least 4 regular season events. The Tour Championship is a 36-hole stroke play tournament. Awards are given to the top four finishers in each division, and season-ending honors are also presented after the close of play. Normally the AJGA will award an exemption to the winners of the older boys' and girls' divisions. Final points are awarded at this event and the Red River Team will be set the next day.
OJGT/TJGT RED RIVER TEAM CUP CHALLENGE: At the end of October each season the OJGT plays an invitational event with and against the Texas Junior Golf Tour and select players from Zona del Norte in Mexico. It is called the Red River Team Cup Challenge. The Red River is played at historic Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Each team regularly brings 56 of its best players and an individual and team competition is held. The OJGT selects its team with strict criteria based upon total season points rankings as well as the exemption list below. Commonly the AJGA gives a number of exemptions for top finishers in this event. The Red River is ranked by the NJGS as well as Footjoy/Titleist.
