Events and Invitationals: Regular Season Events

BASIC STRUCTURE: Regular season events are generally set up to be 36-hole tournaments of stroke play. There are no cuts. All events are ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard. While most events are started by tee times, some are shotgun starts as needed by weather and course requirements. Individual awards are offered to the top finishers, OJGT Tour points are given to top finishers toward season-ending invitationals. In most events the top three finishers in each divison will receive awards emblematic of their accomplishment for that tournament.

AGE GROUPS:
There are four age groups in most events on the OJGT. They are as follows:

Boys 15-18 Division
Girls 15-18 Division
Boys 12-14 Division
Girls 12-14 Division

A younger player may elect to play in the older division for that season. However, once that player elects to play "up" he or she must remain there through the end of the season.
If a player elects to play "up" during the season, he or she may not bring points with them that were earned in the lower age group. It is best that if a player wants to play "up" he or she needs to make that determination before playing the first event.

YEAR END AWARDS: At the end of the season, there are special awards that players may earn in each age division. They are:

Tour All Star Recognition....for those in the top eight in points for the season

Kyle Lewis Stroke Average Champions....for those players who have completed at least four rounds over the season including the OGA Boys and WOGA Girls Championships.

POINTS: After each event, points will be awarded to top finishers in each division as shown below. Ties split points and partial points will be rounded up.
